my guess the HK/PRC/TW IPO cycle peaked. Probably has to wait years for Hotung to have another batch of exits again for shareholders to see more cash.

Thats the problem with VC funds who still want to be in business. Unlike k1 and 2005-2008 Transpac.
good set of result, patmi increase 60% to nt 419.469m and dividend is NT$4.02484 per share or close to 17 cents.

The proposed dividend will be about NT$400M. They basically have NT$1,700M in cash. Roughly 50% of current market cap?!
It's interesting that at current market condition, there are quite a lot of such companies who are basically swimming in cash.

Will be interesting to construct a portfolio consisting such Companies and see how they perform after 5-10 years.

So, dividend has increased from old 1.29 cents at 14 cents price to 17 cents and 1.3 price. Quite surprise, but I guess it will go up now after announcement to at least 1.5
Hotung has not disappoint so far  Big Grin
Will continue to focus on such low P/B and high-cash stocks.

<Vested, Core Holding>
It seems like Hotung is starting to divest and unload some of their investments.

It could be that boss is finally considering to delist or sell off the company, or it could be a reaction to the deteriorating market/economic condition and hotung predicting that asset prices are likely to fall and it is selling off in advance.

Will a catalyst arise this year or will Hotung continue to be a once a year dividend wonder, good to buy in feb and sell in may and go away?
Hotung cash pile is partly working capital. Pay out all then eat air?

That is what I am wondering, I bought at 0.126 in terms of old price, so effectively 1.26 after consolidation, wondering whether it will be better to just use today's up move and get rid, yes the appreciation is not a lot, but, for a holding period of around 6 months, it seems like a good deal to take the 15% appreciation and move on.
