Anyone can offer a good advice on which broker offers the best deal on trading in hkex? I am currently using poems and I cannot see the live price feeds unless I pay 20++ fees per month

If you want to trade daily , then S$20++ is not much to pay for real time prices. Only $1 per day to access real time prices. Not sure what you expect by "best deal" ?

Most HK brokers websites offer share price delayed by 15 minutes but a few such as Quamnet.com , etnet.com.hk, aastocks.com will offer free access to view real time prices.
www.i-access.com is the best

5 hkd per transaction
HK$5 per transaction seems too cheap. I would hesitate to open an account and leave a large sum with this company.
I recommend Interactive Brokers. No minimum commissions, and probably the best rates when converting your SGD to HKD. They don't have a "broker" in the middle, and its all electronic, which is what I prefer.

You can just subscribe for market depth for a month, and cancel it after.
it depends on what kind of services,
for electronic brokerage that should be the price.
Unless you want other fancy services.

HSBC offers the same services 50 times more expensive.

Do check which company is holding custody of your shares.
$5 what can the company be responsible for?

Important when you trade overseas you can find reliable parties to hold your shares esp when u intend to take bigger positions and hold longer.

If u are trader short term, then of course consideration is different
