I read through the article and understand why it mentions retiree. When you are at your retirement after saving/investing your life time to build up a reasonable nest egg, these mistakes can be costly. Of course, for people who are younger, they can make the same mistakes but they have the luxury (time) to start again.

It happens at different times during the entire investment journey, unless you call the market quits. It's like doing business; there is no such thing as no bad debts.

I don't think they mentioned retiree. Just retirement fund, which applies to anyone who is building their retirement fund.
