Seatown is actually quite independent from Temasek. Holistically it seems like left pocket to right pocket but it reflects difference in views and objectives. My guess is that the review was triggered by CEO

Looks like interest in GLP is very strong. Even Temasek is said to be considering bidding (or maybe it's just an attempt to shore up the bid price). Makes me wonder why GIC wants to sell.

Wonder which stock will replace GLP in the league of 30 STI stocks , after GLP is delisted ?
Probably one of the 5 stocks on the reserve list as of Sep 2017: Keppel Reit, Mapletree Commercial Trust, SIA Engineering, Suntec Reit,
Venture Corporation

Maybe SIA Engineering (replaced in Sep by Jardine Strategic) will make a comeback.

At the rate that we're going, STI might be populated with the 3 banks, Telcos & rest all Reits & business trusts... Shy
Based on latest review update, it seems like it will be Venture Corp (whom has jumped queue abit due to recent semiconductor boom) as long as things remain status quo.

The STI reserve list, comprising the five highest ranking non-constituents of the STI by market capitalisation, will be (in order of size) Venture Corp, Suntec REIT, Mapletree Commercial Trust, Keppel REIT and Sembcorp Marine. Companies on the reserve list will replace any constituents that become ineligible as a result of corporate actions, before the next review. A full list of STI constituents can be found on the website
