I thought you are quite a young guy...didnt know you bought these shares when they were still known as inter roller Engineering

Sad
It wasn't too long ago that Pteris was called Inter-Roller. When I was investing (trading, actually) in 2005-2006, I already knew of this Company and it was doing very well with its strong order book and when I flew overseas, I even saw their brand name Inter-Roller on the baggage collection system.

The rest is history, I guess. To see if a business can survive through cycles will require a careful study. Sometimes, history is on our side but other times it requires thoughtful analysis and cool calculations/projections. This is why investing is not easy.

i also have this "scar"...
I too have my scars. Have been paying dues for around 12 years now. If we were to list down all the mistakes we made, it will be really long. Some of my mistakes (and I paid dearly for them)

I now subscribe more to a theory for buying good, under-valued counters at far below intrinstic values and just hold. This strategy has served me well (THG, Portek, Kim Eng). The forum is a real treasure trove as I really learn a lot from all the gurus here. Keep the discussion flowing!
