Is NAV an accurate reflection of Hotung true fair value?

Or NAV is really just a theoretical value?

Since most of its investments are unlisted entities, we will never know how these would be valued by Mr Market.

It does not mean it is necessary for companies to be trading in e exchange market to warrant a high valuation. M&A deals are typically done in multiples of enterprise value (which may be worked out from DCF) or precedent transactions.

Yes, these few years paying out a large part of profit. Probably because of its large cash holding...9 cents of cash.

Vested.

During bad times, ZERO dividends...

****
Management does not have a pre-determined dividend policy and
historical payments have been erratic, due to loss-making situations. The
company paid cash dividends annually from its incorporation in 1997 to
2001. No dividends were paid between 2002 and 2005 when the group
incurred losses/low profits. 2006 and 2007 saw a dividend payout of more
than 60% each year on the back of sizeable earnings. Dividend payments
ceased again in 2008 when the group returned to the red.
As a company registered in Bermuda, Hotung faces restrictions in relation
to the quantum of its cash dividends, for there are pre-determined
solvency requirements to be complied with.

Hotung has been holding AGM in Taipei for the past several years, finally, this coming AGM will be held in Singapore.

http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/Hotung%2...eID=291471

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of Hotung Investment Holdings Limited (the “Company”) will be held at The Chevrons, 48 Boon Lay Way, Singapore 609961, on April 29, 2014 (Tuesday) at 10:30 a.m.

Hotung also resumed share buy-back recently to support the share price (maybe to make shareholders happy so that nobody will complaint about the share price during the AGMTongue).

I must take this opportunity to ask some of the questions I wanted to ask during AGM.
