MAGNUS Energy Group's managing director Lim Kuan Yew, 55, has resigned to "pursue his personal ventures and businesses".
The news comes months after the company's former executive director, Koh Teng Kiat, stepped down amid a Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) probe.
In April, the oil and gas contractor and coal mining investor had announced that the passports of Mr Koh and the company's chief financial officer Luke Ho Khee Yong had been impounded by the CAD.
The two executives were told that there were reasonable grounds to believe they had committed false trading and market rigging offences under Singapore's securities laws.
