It seems orderly, until towards the end of meeting, one woman SH asked the Chairman, quite rudely, on why no plastic bag was provided for her to carry her food. She even demanded an immediate answer from the Chairman. Its really hard to please everyone.

Some time ago, I had been to an AGM in which a male SH continually berated 1 of the staff for sending out wrong details about transportation to the company HQ. I went up to request him to stop his rant since the staff had already acknowledged/apologized for their error. Of course, I was also scolded until he realized that I wasn't a company staff and hence didn't fall under his '1 am your boss's boss for 1/365 day' category.

I guess for a lot of retail OPMIs (including me), besides the times where we can act like a boss against all the 'lower paid' retail sales person, some just simply can't leave out this annual chance to act like a boss against those whom had traditionally always lorded over us. Smile

I was wondering why the listed companies keep offering food at their AGM's, despite the repeated negative experiences with it. It causes irritation on different levels and the solution seems simple: just serve coffee, tea and water as companies do at European/US AGMs.

What is the incentive for the company to provide the food? Or is it just a tradition?

Paying and maintaining good dividend is the best gesture of the company , not food .

Yeah, saw this auntie SH asking OCBC chairman about the "plastic bag" question when i was walking out. This is what happened when the lot size is reduced to 100shares

Hope next year, no SH will ask Chairman how come no Ketchup, Chilli sauce or tissue paper.

Chairman can decide if the question is out of order but most chairman doesnt want to stir the hornet's nest in a once a year event

Food vouchers are good middle ground idea
