SINGAPORE: A Pacific Healthcare Holdings director has been served with a Writ of Summons for alleged sexual harassment.

Pacific Healthcare told the Singapore Exchange that a claim has been made against Mr Kwan Benny Ahadi, a non-independent non-executive director, for alleged sexual harassment at the workplace from September 2011 to May 2012.

The alleged acts are believed to have been carried out in the course of Mr Kwan's duties as a director of the company.

Pacific Healthcare Holdings and its subsidiary, Pacific Healthcare Specialist Services (PHSS), have also been served with a Writ of Summons for general and special damages for alleged breaches of fiduciary duties and duty of care owed to the complainant.

The summons was issued in the High Court on Monday.

The companies have appointed legal counsel.

Pacific Healthcare said its audit committee has also been actively investigating the allegations since it was brought to their attention.

In the evening, Mr Kwan issued a statement categorically rejecting all allegations of sexual harrassment.

According to the statement, the allegations were apparently made by a dental nurse working at the company's subsidiary.

Mr Kwan assured shareholders that he "will not allow this or any other development" from hindering him in discharging his duties.
