Why he call for higher tax, I think could be trying to survive lah trying to be pro-beijing. Not just him a few of the big business hongs also in the soup or struggling to survive.

Their connection to the powerful old establishment in Beijing is now in trouble there's a take down going on. Jiang Zemin power base shrinking,  Bo Xilai, Zhou yongkang are all gone.  Those are his prominent supporters.

And it's widely rumored recently Jiang Zemin's son under house arrest.

If that's really true I think everybody else in the "Jiang Faction" including all the business leaders should be scrambling for cover in the background.

They probably won't take down all, but to keep everybody else 'in line' I feel they will go for the biggest or most visible to make example.

And If "Jiang" himself soon to get checkmated (excuse the pun) how is he able to rescue anybody else?

last time they don't have knowledge how to do business with the west they needed people like LKS and he also cultivated those connections not sure how or if he had benefited from it. Now if the young turks want to take down the old establishment they need to strip away that power 1 layer at at time and they do that by digging for any dirt from known associates. I heard over 50 smaller ministers already given the sack.

the thing is, we envy these tycoons we envy their massive wealth numerous assets lifestyle cars properties beautiful women that they toss around change and replace like nothing to them. but actually they are in a very precarious position. The closer you get to the center of the power the more dangerous it becomes and if that power one day falls all the knives will come out.

Remember when Suharto went down what happened to all his business cronies known associates.

Happy Chinese New Year to all valuebuddies.

Introducing a very long video:
1. LKS talk about CF's favourite china politician/strategist/merchant
 “夏则资皮,冬则资纱,旱则资船,水则资车” - 范蠡

2. LKS contrasted 范蠡's vs Benjamin Franklin's difference style
    and impact to society.

3. Most exciting part is the Q&A.
