Having a kid is the biggest joy and most satisfaction in life.

End of the day, on your deathbed. You bring nothing to your grave.

If you dont want a child for saving more $ is the most foolish mistake.

The $, is just a mean to the ends. You decide what the ends are. Without the desired ends, the $ is a bunch of useless figures.

Kids expenses - $1.5k/mth
maid - $1k/mth
car - $1k/mth
KidEducation saving - $1k/mth

My plan is for the partner to be a stay-at-home mother. That removes the need for a maid and ensures a good quantity of mom-child bonding in the early years. Maybe there might be another child soon after that? My monthly income is sufficient to upkeep the family.

I intend to move around without a car in SG therefore that removes another big cost component.

As for the kid's education, the plan is to start a portfolio and S$1k per month sounds about right.

Thanks funman for sharing!
