If I not wrong, not many people can handle a blowtorch. For one, I will not try to handle it until I am trained.
I am not sure its significance, since I am non-online-game player, but sound promising to attract more access on SingTel's mobile gaming portal...

Is this the reason why the share price of Sing Tel is rather resilience lately? Personally I am not too optimistic about Sing Tel as before. Its business in Australia and India is still not doing too well, plus the weakening currency could affect this qtr results negatively. On top of that, there is a looming fine for the fire outbreak at Bukit Panjang exchange, though the amount will not be big enough to create an impact to its financial.

Vested but starting to divest to other stocks Smile

Mostly agree with your view, but I will not divest it in near term.

My SingTel's story is asset play. I am looking forward for the asset recycle initiative on its Netlink and the impending acquisition of OpenNet. So far the story remains intact, but is delayed.

This will greatly increase the compliance cost. SingTel mobile market share is around 45%, which means double the other two operators in additional capex if it is materialized...

Telcos may soon have to ensure back-up mobile networks: Minister

SINGAPORE — Mobile operators here may soon have to put in place at least two sets of replicated network equipment, housed at different geographical locations, Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim said in parliament today (Nov 11).

In the event that one location is brought down, the other location is capable of immediately taking over the full load and capacity, explained Dr Yaacob, who added that international experts have indicated that no country has required its operators to build such a full geo-redundant mobile network at the core level.

One important note is the following. A balance act is required.

"...explained Dr Yaacob, who added that international experts have indicated that no country has required its operators to build such a full geo-redundant mobile network at the core level."
Ya another first for Singapore and true to our Kiasu culture Big Grin

IMHO I think this is overkill, but you can see where they are coming from.
It can be an overkill for some large countries, but for a small country like Singapore, It might be a need in times of crisis.

Anyway, Singapore has always had a lot of "Singapore first" and many times it has helped Singapore get ahead or stay alive because of that.
