Taking advantage of the GSS, i picked up more SingTel shares @3.8... Big Grin

I splurged on a Samsung S4 LTE with 4G plan recently. It served as a belated reward, and also giving me a real experience of data usage.

So far, it is fun. Big Grin

Speed test on 4G gave data almost equivalent to 100M fibre broadband, approx 24Mbps. Speed test on 6Mbps xDSL SingTel line gave around 6 Mbps.

After a day of usage, i used up 10% of my data quota. It is pretty easy to exceed the quota for active user. Monetizing from the data on tiered plan is real... Tongue
Did some re balancing today. Sold some shares and used the money to buy Singtel at $3.78. Waiting for the 10c dividends which will be paid in Aug Big Grin
I am also re-balancing funds to prepare for bargains in the GSS, not now, probably in due course. Big Grin

Wish good luck on SingTel, to you and me too. Big Grin

(vested)
i have bought at $3.59 many years ago. i just refuse to average down in the past. Now maybe i will.
Barclays keeps SingTel at Overweight; $4.00 target

Barclays keeps SingTel (Z74.SG) at Overweight with a $4.00 target price after the house hosted management in meetings with institutional investors in Europe earlier this week.

One of the highlights of the meeting was that the management put the flagged $2 billion investments into the 'Digital Life' strategy in context: "a) it's a three-year plan and even at that, not a commitment to spend; (b) compares with network investments that have been guided for S$2.5 billion for a single year in FY14. Management indicated strict discipline around metrics and milestones in each case as driving further investment or exits," says the house.

just because I didn't realise I had to disable my internet data roaming feature while in overseas recently, I received a sms from singtel saying that the charge for my autoroaming is $50. I had tot that I was tapping on the free wifi access in that country. do u think there could be a room to appeal for refund or partial refund?

Base on hearsay stories around, usually 1st timer has a privilege of "negotiation for discount". Few friends of mine confirmed verbally that they succeeded.

no harm trying, and claiming 1st time using smart phone oversea... Tongue
Base on Digicel consortium's bidding info, updated the expected Capex outflow of SingTel on Myanmar telecom biz, if SingTel make it.

The previous forecast is approx S$1.5 billion in next 2 years (2013-2014) by SingTel, the rest are shared by other 2 partners.

Base on Digicel consortium bidding, total S$8.3 billion for 3 years (2013-2016), SingTel's share of Capex is re-estimated as S$1.85 billion over 2 years.

The new TP seems to be around $4.2-$4.6... Big Grin

Bidding result will be announced around end June, there should shed more light on SingTel actual Capex on Myanmar...

Based on your crystal ball, what will be the TP if Singtel don't get it? Big Grin

At the moment, the crystal ball is "configured" as Myanmar bidding is an outflow and a zero (nil) inflow of cash in the next 2 years.

With a wipe on the crystal ball, and look hard... It tells the TP will move above S$5, due to more dividend declared... Hmm... too good to be true... right?

If SingTel fails the Myanmar bid, i assume other venture will replace its role to spend the money...Tongue I will reconfigure the crystal ball again to reflect that in due course...

YMMV
