KepCorp's purchase of Kepland on hindsight is an over zealous and potentially over priced purchase.

IIRC, Kepland has largely unlocked values of its first tier city office assets into Keppel REIT. What is left is a portfolio of supposedly high growth emerging Asia developments in Indonesia, Vietnam, Phillippines and China. Unfortunately emerging Asia is always prone to resources slump and currency attacks.

New management team in hind sight is in a rush to plug a gap in the slowdown of core earnings.

If they have followed Dr Wee's patience in consolidating Singland and UIC, Kepcorp would have save the precious bullets and enhance shareholders' wealth in times like these.

Anyway, times are tough. We can only watch the drama unfold.

^^ I thought kep corp has too much free cash from the reduced working
capital of lesser orders. Trying to buy earnings.
I m cash strapped... Can KepCorp give some to me? Anyway, got too much free cash and over paying in a rush is also a corporate sin just like capland selling ALZ below A$3.80 only to see Towkay Charoen's FCL paying A$4.52 to delist it half a year later...

Aberdeen Asset Management PLC is reducing its holding, by disposing about 2.6 million shares

They dumped yesterday at average price $6.53. Today price is $6.99 which is 7% higher.

Not very good timing don't tell me they also panic selling.

If sell today can yield them $1.2m more. But then these are small money to them probably.

Selling at this level???

Aberdeen is a big elephant. They are value investors and hence their sale is of significance...
keppel corporation may be dragged down by its oil related subsidiaries like keppel fels for the recent plunge.
Any one can suggest what is the best price entry for this stock?
I thought Aberdeen is just another standard fund management company. Maybe its clients are withdrawing funds that why it has to liquidate though its not the fund managers will want? So its actually means blood is on the street and signifying buy instead of sell? haha

Its uncharacteristic for Aberdeen to sell KepC now. The headwinds of KepFEL is well reported for about a year now when oil prices plunge.

I reckon they have faced redemptions.
