Chicken price shock: Bulk of suppliers accused of price-fixing

SINGAPORE — In one of the worst anti-competitive cases involving an industry here, 13 fresh chicken distributors, who collectively account for more than 90 per cent of the fresh chicken market share, have been accused of coordinating price hikes and agreeing not to compete for each other’s customers for at least seven years.

These acts were aimed at distorting the prices of fresh chicken products here and they reduced customer choices, said the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) on Tuesday (March 8). “The coordinated price increases further reduced customer choice, as it provided few options for customers to switch distributors,” a spokesperson added.

Chicken distributors are small fry but big oil company are not dun play play

CCS has done the same for petrol companies last year, and the result below. The CCS is very "garang", and dare to "play-play" on both big and small, including GLCs...

No evidence of collusion on petrol prices, competition watchdog finds

SINGAPORE: There is no evidence to suggest collusion in petrol pricing, the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) announced at a media briefing on Tuesday (Feb 23).

This is despite the fact that the four petrol companies - Caltex, Esso, Shell and Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) - monitor and react to each other's published prices, CCS concluded from its interim findings from a study initiated in 2015.
