Dear Value Buddies,

I just created a website www.joetojones.com to help the average Joe find good quality companies to invest in.

My investing journey started some time in 2008 when the market was starting to crash. Since then till now, I have seen how fund managers/financial advisors ‘eat’ small retail investors like us. I hope my website will equip the average Joe the investing tools to beat the street, and will no longer be bullied by these big financial institutions.

I started my investing journey through a mix of listening to “hot tips” and reading on investing. My first stock purchase was Citigroup in 2008 for $20 (before the 10 to 1 reverse stock split). A “real bargain” I must say, compared to the $25 my friend paid just one month ago, and $50 at its 52 weeks high.  Boy I was wrong, and the price tanked and I finally sold it off at $4. The price had since hovered around there till even today.

That whole incident taught me to never rely on hot tips but rely on reading up on the company’s financial before investing. Had I known what I know now, I would not have gone anywhere near that stock.

Through what I have learned and experienced, I think I have accrued sufficient knowledge in finding the right companies through long term investing. I hope the average Joe will find my website useful.

Please visit the site and advise how I may improve the content. The site is still very primitive in terms of it looks so please be kind in giving your critics in its appearance.

My website also provides services to help the average Joe find good quality companies to invest in. Let me know what you guys think.

Thank you.
