2015 just ended with many stories behind it including but not limited to
1. Global/emerging market economic slowdown
2. China stock market volatility
3. Yuan devaluation
4. End with US finally raise its interest rates for the first time since the subprime crisis

Equity market may be bumpy and volatile in 2016. So where to invest in 2016? found this best investments for 2016 article. Hope it helps.
I find your topic header somewhat misleading...you should include "for property investors" after 2016.

The article is not objective at all since it is by Huttons. Of course they will say the best investment in 2016 is property, what else...and considering points 1 to 4 that you mentioned coupled with the mention of a possibly bumpy and volatile equity market, I find it somewhat amusing that the best investment recommended is property....
Strongman93 posted this in the Property subforum, which implies property related post. If you look at the history of his post, it is pretty clear he is hawking property.
sg stk mkt is dead... unless got time to trade hk/usa mkt, else juz buy etf n sleep on it

lol, market dead no companies want to list here and no capital investing or fund attraction here, that's a contribution to the economy too
investing money in property is best in 2016 as it as more demand because of the development day to day
really? nah, Tongue

invest in stocks is much better! Big Grin
Invest in nothing for the time being.
Generally speaking, nothing is attractive now.
Higher frequency of investment activity/trading do not automatically equate to higher returns.
