Merry X'mas, yet,  Undecided

Quite sad to see a family member who spent close >S$3.5K to buy a vaccum cleaner through a MLM/Direct Seller sales person...
so many cases of CASE complaints which can be googled easily and read-up before the purchase is done...yet...
money spent for a product which does not even dare to state their functions... yet offer 36 months installments...

#$#@$@#$!! these MLM/Direct sales/sellers!!!

How can we protect these blur-blur consumers??

From tupper-wares to super-expensive washing liquids, to iron woks..etc... so many of them!!

Angry Angry Angry

capitalized on real needs, and chop carrot BIG BIG!!! @#@#@!!
I guess it's the infamous dxxxxxx....I nearly kena also, that lady said 15 mins demo but ended up 2hrs lecture.... Luckily I already done the research and just treated it as my weekend free entertainment.....
Me too. "Ear cannot be too soft" lah - loosely translated. Salesman was very persistent - told me can vacuum anything..
Time is too precious to be wasted on things that you do not need/do not matter.
Understand from a friend that they will offer "free vacuum".
Everyone loves a good bargain but more often than not, the total cost of the bargain is ultimately much higher than what you would normally pay for the service/product. Never never just look at the sticker price alone. or what is being advertised. Reputable service providers and products often are priced quite similarly, if something is too cheap or free, the best thing to do is avoid.
If you search the company's name, you would find some CASE complaints lodged before. Recently they have been very active again, giving up freebies in neighbourhood shopping mall. Er my friend's aunt do have one of this and she seems to quite satisfied with the results though. I think this is just another (probably) quality product at high markup, but just beware of those sales rep with hardselling tactics.

As usual, is there some gaps in supervision policy? Misselling based on greedy high mark up.
Acra should ban such companies from mushrooming.
Just like in USA they banned tran fat products
Actually, it is a good training for old folks and those who have soft ears.
Take away their wallet and HP first Tongue
Invite promoter to demo and "free vacuum" and YOU must sit beside them to relieve them the pressure to place their order. Big Grin
That's how Bank's RM preys on the old folks going for FD as well in branches. Maybe there should be criminal regulation on this.

That is not the role of ACRA. There is no enforcement agency in sg. Willing buyer willing seller.
Misselling is under CASE but the burden of proof is on the complainant. This is a civil case, not criminal law. Its best not to believe that sg has strong ethical enforcement.
that why there is possibly some gap Mah in regulatory oversight
