I saw article on this in reader digest maybe 20 years ago of group of people living in a opal mine in australia seemed like a really good idea to escape the heat and cheap too, and when you low on cash or need another room just dig one out and maybe can find a few nuggets at same time to pay for the beer. Big Grin

Timely for the amendment, of State Lands Act and Land Acquisition Act, on 8 May 2015: Facilitating use and development of underground space. It is definitely interesting to stay underground, for the cooling without air-con, especially now. Big Grin

This could be dangerous due to higher amounts of radon gas under ground. Radon gas is the second biggest cause of lung cancer, after smoking.

Living under-ground, isn't new to mankind. I reckon it should be already a solution, albeit might be expansive.

Underground living - for short duration services is okay lah... eg, shopping, spas, library, storage, clinics, cinema..etcs..... Big Grin
