OMH released an updated status on its greenfield smelter project in Sarawak.
Key highlights:
i) Pg 5 - a funding shortfall of US$91m to secure the required equity amount in order to kick-start project financing and
ii) higher projected returns alongside with higher capex on the smelter.

higher projected return comes from higher expected average product margin of 44% for ferrosilicon as compared to 27% in November 2011.
Glad to see that they are taking off as early as Q1 2014, but we still have to keep in mind that this is a commoditised business. If more smelters appear, smelting margin will also fall. They also enjoy a tax holiday of 5 years afterwhich they will be charged 25% corporate tax.
Boustead's AGM this year will be held at Grand Mercure Hotel Level 3 instead of the Company's HQ at Starhub Green.
It will be at 10 a.m. on July 30, 2012 (Monday). I'd expect to receive the AR 2012 by early next week, at the latest.

that's great, I am quite worried that I will miss it initially. Will still be a rush of time for me on that day

i have not started preparing for boustead yet, not sure if i have sufficient time given that there's 4 divisions + 1 OMH investment

I m pretty sure that mgt will have time to answer yr quality questions. Just that you may have to be kiasu to get your questions ahead since there may be some uncles and aunties asking v basic questions especially in a hotel setting.

This time round the venue is more accessible
Probably to cater to a larger shareholder base, too. Last year the conference room was literally bursting at the seams. There was almost no place to put the buffet - and shareholders had to squeeze past one another. I felt much thinner after that AGM!
OMH's recovery continues... Boustead has bottom fished this time round. With OMH still working on covering the funding gap for their equity portion required for Sarawak smelter, hopefully Boustead's cash hoard can be put to good use.
