Moderator log:

On behalf of our moderator team, I would like to update our VB buddies with the following moderator log.

VB embraces new buddies who bring in vibrancy and diversity to our forum. All are eventually benefited, both the existing and newly on-board buddies.

That comes with an issue, not all new buddies are suitable for our forum. Hard decisions have to be made eventually, when need arises. The VB isn't a paid site, a simple disciplinary model has been employed on major decisions, with our limited resources. The model is based on discussion (among us), and voting (for decision), majority wins.

We, the moderator team, won't be tolerating funny behavior in this forum. We do welcome sincere contribution, sharing and participation in meaningful discussion, regardless of position held. We don't welcome those who think they can game the system and the forum. It is a disrespect to the forum, our existing buddies, and the moderator team.

FYI, most of our moderation team's time were spent on dealing with the gaming, which is meaningless.

The moderator team found and confirmed with confidence that CLeong, LLS, LSL and Obama are belong to a same person. It is also with reasonable confidence that he is linked to a previously banned account, and he is gaming with us with various means. The moderator team has decided unanimously to ban all the four accounts, with immediate effect.

Regards
Moderator CF on behalf of moderator team
A big thank you to the moderator team for the hard work to maintain this forum! 谢谢!
Thanks moderators hard work to maintain VB forum.

However, the same person will / can sign up again in new name and continue his/her game. How do VB prevent such people?

I am not IT guy, so can't help here.
Hi Moderator,

If really too much, just let this one or two trolls manipulated by one bo liao person be...

Maybe you can reactivate the negative reputation scheme, e.g.

IF a person get a -5 reputations from just 1 post in 2 days, account will be automatically suspended. It can be revived upon review of moderators, otherwise, it will be off for 1 week.

Happen again off for 1 month.

More hands make less work.

Moderators just have to review those with high negative reputations, after the account can revived, only additional -5 will get it suspended again...

Just a suggestion...
I respect Moderators' decision.

If people are disrespectful then they have no right to be around and waste others time.

In fact if some buddies may have also been irritated by non-sensical posts and also wasting time not to uncover quality research.

From my understanding, the same person has started irritating some buddies' personal blog resulting in some buddies considering stop blogging eventually.

Is that right or does a personal have an mental health issue?

Agree with Greenrookie. Not sure if it is possible but you can stop the abuse by limiting each person to give only one negative reputation to each member, and if an account is banned then all the reputation the fellow gives get deleted

As usual great work moderators. The environment u provided is one of the key reasons I'm here Smile

To the ex-VB buddy (who got banned),
If you are reading this, i hope you can understand that what you are doing is of no value to you and everyone of us.
You are most probably a retail investor (like most of us). So, it is really a sheer wastage of time/mental resources for such trolls when such valuable (and limited) resources can be better invested to help us to make $ and achieve our personal goals. I think you can be better than this. Just like how envy represents a total net loss, such aimless trolling represents a total net loss as well. Instead, as fellow retail folks, we should unite our cause because the 'real enemy' is out there - the big sharkers, the insiders, the big boys and the Godfathers.

Your act might be no different from that of a jilted bf, who continues to stalk his ex-gf, who has already moved on. To win this investing game, it takes temperament and i believe you can attain that temperament to show that you deserve to achieve success.
Highly impressive forensics at work. Thanks mods. If I didnt remember wrongly there aren't that many 'previously banned' personnel. Interesting enough to keep me thinking who it was, at least for today. Tongue
Thanks for the comments.

I suggest negative reputation should continue be deactivated. It might be useful, but it also brings in negative energy of hostility and resentment into our forum. It is also a easily misused feature, especially under a wrong hand.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those have made moderator reports and send PMs to moderator, on abnormalities observed. It helps.

As usual, no name should be mentioned. We focus on issue, rather on person.
