Uncle google is very helpful. He says its about S$2.76 bil in 2013. This year 2014 is projected about S$2.95.

In a great business model, we are always in surplus and there is always money to drive the economy if required.

MOF budget counts COE as a revenue. LTA does not see it as a revenue. Can?

Generally, I feel that cyclist here usually think they have the right of way.

Everyday, I will do a left turn into carpark where there is usually both cyclist and pedestrian going straight. I observed that usually the pederstrain will stop to allow the car to turn, whereas the cyclist will normally ride through without even stopping to look whether there is any car turning.

Good information! Probably part of this sum will be catered for road works etc. As expenses. It cleared my doubts on this portion.

The cyclists forgot they are flesh covering steel. Crazy.

Singapore is not so obvious but in some European country it's very obvious.

These European country has clear lane for cyclist.
At the road junction, the cyclist will not slow down.
They just zoom across the road.
Car must stop for them then can make a turn.

I think it's reasonable because it will slow down the cyclist tremendously if they need to stop/pause before crossing.

As for car, anyway, before we make a turn, we always need to slow down as a best practice.

So, drivers, please be very careful when driving in overseas.

It really piss me off.

Uncle Temp, we need to understand the cultural differences between Singapore and China on road.

In Singapore, car has the priority on road. Pedestrians need to watch out for cars. But in China, drivers need to watch out for pedestrians instead.

I dare not drive when in China, not due to its left-hand driving, but the pedestrian behaviour.
i agree about CHINA. But i think most of the time, the jay walkers are locals; As my estate doesn't have many FTS.

i think the number of scrap cars is one thing from month to month . How the G going to play with the number of available COE is another. i think our G will play the COE game like many other "perks" in a "FEAST & FAMINE" manner due to GE every five years. I am sure True Blue Singaporeans by now will know what i mean.

I'm not stupid also can not do anything. Just play the game to your best capability or situations lol!

This is about 30% increase. Think current car owners will complain more traffic jam.

As someone who don't drive + afford a car, i always thought of those driver who anyhow honk here & there at HDB estate as f*****, gave pedestrians a shock of their life.
Don't signal..rush into small lane/ turning at traffic junction(green man still flashing) to cut off pedestrian 1st, even when walk within the double yellow line also honk, think got $$ afford car = big f*** own the entire road. I always nv failed to curse those driver bad karma + kena accident.

Then again izzit a trend being been more & more impatience?
Two main dislikes when going out 1) Car anyhow Honk 2) Ppl Tsk! you when walking pass you.
