HDB should adopt retirement village model - ST forum Colin Loh
I applaud the HDB for building studio apartment for elderly but this is far from the retirement village model.
Retirement homes overseas have programmes, such as pond fishing, barbecue nights and sports competitions, that involve the residents' families as well as the neighbouring community.
With basic sports facilities such as exercise stations or a swimming pool, and medical facilities such as clinic that caters to basic health-care needs.
