Some of malaysian friends i know are affected by the curb lately, they cannot buy resale hdb until 3 yrs later. So they have to rent hdb unit as condo is definitely out.
some expats are really "jian"...

I spoke to one recently and he was talking about the high expenses working in Singapore, ie. renting a condo... So I told him HDB is an option and he said he didn't want to lower his standard of living.... -.-

Well.. he can rent a shoe box unit.
If the expat is here as a single even though married, then of course he will opt for a condo. If he is here with wife and family, then maybe the whole 4-rm or 5-rm HDB. Also it depends on the terms of his employment contract; which we don't really know.
Many owners are fighting for lesser tenants , thus lower rents.
Something that i don't understand, FTs come here take up HR, admin, supporting roles. Are these skills that Singaporeans do not have? Our new graduates from NUS, NTU, SIM, SMU cannot handle such tasks??
