Here is a detailed look at what Morph has invested in.

Dear fellow VB,

ST (04 June 2015) reported lagi more jialat effects from El Nino. Refer to ST pg 10 headline reads "El Nino set to hit world grain production". FAO also warned that this "could last all year, impacting world grain production".

PS: I seldom read papers... But, this is like wow! Looking at pics of cracked dried muddied grounds. Natural calamities gives no mercy indeed.
Hi Vesfreq

Kencana is still struggling to rear its head...
Do u think it will make a loss this year again?

I understand that things would only start to get better from next year onwards because of the impact of biodiesel mandate which will be ramped up again in 2016..

The recent quarter fx losses are massive. Rupiah still weak, though Indo central bank promised to take action to support rupiah. But, their reporting in USD. Strange, still fx loss.

I tend to agree with you. El Nino effect seems quite bad as per the ST yesterday.

Biodiesel mandate also dunno if govt can enforce effectively, though its a good catalyst for better revenue.

Your view?
Will Kencana go bankrupt before CPO price recovers?

Bro,
You very free. Any reason for that remark? Just puzzled!
If El Nino does not materialize and CPO price continues to languish, not sure whether Kencana can survive another year of loss (i.e. negative net income)??

El Nino is almost a foregone conclusion, except that the effects of it on commodity are quite uncertain.

Kencana has real assets (those palm plantations) at least. Patience pays dividends.
Strange thing is.

If El Nino is a catalyst for the cpo price to spike and it is also potential cause for the feedstock costs to spike, margins will improve? no?
