Car, factory data hint at further US momentum
ATHENS — New vehicle sales in June were poised to record their strongest month in more than five and a half years and factories posted a second straight month of gains in new orders in May, indicating some pick-up in United States economic activity.
Home prices posted their biggest annual increase in more than seven years in May, other data showed yesterday, suggesting that the economy is finding some momentum after slowing early in the second quarter as the effects of cooling global demand and tighter fiscal policy took hold.
