Mr. Market is voting down the acquisition, with more than -7% down as of now.

As usual, Mr. Market isn't always right. Base on feedback from the ground, there are much room for improvement comparing with the previous management. Straco might be able to make it profitable, with its skill and resources.

Honestly, I am not optimistic about the acquisition too. It seems like Straco has to perform its magic to turn this around. I hope they had a good deal, with very good support by STB in the deal that the previous owner did not have. Besides, it will not look good if this asset fails again, no one will want it. Rolleyes

Vested.
Zouk... when zouk moved in, then the base rental plus car park takings will underwrite the investment.

Real business takes time... Mr Market too emotional at times...

GG
Got this from another forum... :-)

> The Flyer should have been built on top of Mount Faber
Zouk has not confirm the move to flyer right?
The flyer is secondary, Zouk is the soul to make flyer fly.

(Just Vested )
Yup. Agreed with both cityfarmer and gg. There are a lot of details not yet shared. As a businessman, mr wu is much less concerned about the stock price than building business, there would definitely be business considerations in his mind in the flyer acquisition.

The devil is in the details.
Zouk will be positive. And if STB desperate enough maybe can ask them to change Promenade station name to Flyer station since the existing name don't mean much either Smile

Maybe also extend the Marina Link to improve access Smile

I think main thing is how to develop the potential of the place as it's really not conducive and out of normal traffic. Reminds me of the multiple Sentosa fails in the past 30 years until they got the connecting bridge up (not casino)
But, market has thought otherwise. Down 8% since opening this morning.

Entertainment is a cut-throat business. What is the economic moat?
Dear Curious party, do you see another flyer around? Its a tourist attraction, not a new club, arcade or night-life business.
