i think anyone is rich as long as he doesn't need to spend more than he has throughout his lifetime. You actually don't need to be a millionaire to "feel rich". The trouble is i only feel rich when i don't need to spend my money. The moment i need to spend, i feel i am not that rich after all. (Psst.. i am spending my interest on my interest......)
Not really. But i wish i am. TongueBig Grin

If I take a bus to blk85, had my haircut, take a bus back home, it is still cheaper than the $10 haircut at my neighbourhood.
Thanks for the info Smile
haha. i hope u can accept the 5min haircut.
HA! HA! HA!
Since i got married i have free haircut from my wife. i don't know how it got started. Though most of the times my left sideburns may not "synchronized" with my right sideburns. Don't be mistaken! She used to be working in the bank not in the beauty salon. She just enjoy giving me the haircut. But my son won't accept her "skillful" haircut. So till now she is still my hair stylist. Actually, my head is almost going bald already. Ha! Ha! Big GrinBig Grin

Hi paul, thanks for all your sharing Smile It is heartening to hear that you are still so frugal despite yr wealth.

I am also quite frugal, hoping to retire financially free at the age of around 35-40. It is almost impossible (i am introverted, have poor social skills, no experience) for me to set up my own business, i guess my only hope is through the stockmarket where i can purchase pieces of good businesses at a reasonable price, then let management compound $$ on my behalf at a decent rate.
I m very impressed by Sim Lian management. You go check their project execution and courage to take on the biggest game in Singapore. 2011 report, they already saw ahead of others, commercial strata title development. The stock return not counting dividend is 50% a year, and directors all take scrip dividend.

Unlike Koh of fragrance, this Co. is 100% execution excellence. I salute them on their precision in delivering organic growth. A 1 billion cap coming soon!!
Since we are in the topic of frugality, allow me to share an article which I read some time ago.

http://financialmentor.com/retirement-pl...-less/5474

I believe the article covers most of what was mentioned here.

Personally, I am unable to practice to that extend, as my monthly expenses is somewhere between $5-6k, and that leave not much to invest, and based on his 3% withdrawal rate, I will need $2-2.4M to safely retire....
