speaking of casino, let me share my recent trip to genting. i observed roulette red black has no cinsecutive repeat for more than three times in a row, at keast for that 1hr i was there on 4 separate tables. maybe they do repeat more times at different times. so seeing 2consecutive reds/black i went in and bet the opposite, preparing to double if the reverse happened. using this strayegy, i used 300 n won 500. i played 30 times n won 20. because each loss was followed bu doubling, my win wss limited. my aim wss consisyency. my each win was still limited to rm25. i noted losers r those who sit down long ling and play. snd llosers like to play high leverage 1-7 games.

I used to go up to Genting every Q when I was still single - stayed at Awana Resorts - golf in the AM, casino at night.
The strategy you described is known as
Martingale Betting System. I was more kia-su, I only start betting after 5 consecutive reds / blacks. Yes, using this strategy, I was able to make $$ most times. BUT, I have ever encountered >10 consecutive reds / blacks or even the green '0' (some have extra double '00') in between. As I also have a cut loss strategy (I limit myself to a max. sum for each visit), I was ever wiped out before.
Oh ya, just cheap thrills for me. Main purpose is to relax (golfing) but the 'experience' gained, especially at the roulette tables, must have helped to strengthen my nerves + mental strength + decisiveness for stocks.... haha..

Believe it or not, I had not stepped into any land-based casinos. I only walked into starcruises' casino simply because there are not much activities onboard.
When I calculated the probability of winning in my mind, I immediately felt very sian and lost all gambling moods.
correct. mine is a limited martingale. limited to 4 progression. n limited to 3sets. so matgematically, it would take a long time to be wipe out. more likely, would be able to make some small money n most imptly relax.
Gambling is addictive, i experienced it during my sec school period.
I was addicted to mahjong game during one of the school holiday. It is not "healthy" mahjong game, but with "big" money then, and not with classmates, but with "professional" players
I was playing days and nights, even after school holiday ended. It was mum who managed to pull me out
Never under estimate the "power" of gambling. It remains as a reminder till now, not over mahjong table, but in investing.

Yup, consecutive 10 blacks...
whole table was swam with people...
most of them put down cash instead of chips...
all on red...
and the winner is the house...Green.
Remember this when you encounter your next consecutive 10 blacks...
Good luck!

As a gambling hobbyist, I was wondering why Baccarat has a lower expected return than Blackjack (which is way different from my experience
). But I found the answer from the link: "Many other sources do not count ties in the house edge calculation, especially for the Don’t Pass bet in craps and the banker and player bets in baccarat. The rationale is that if a bet isn’t resolved then it should be ignored. I personally opt to include ties although I respect the other definition."
haha. din expect myself to be heading this thread. to sum it up, i hav never seen anyone or know anyone myself who can make a living off gambling. the line between gambling addition n leisur is extremely illdefined. more likely than not, it will ruin lives n families. there is no full proof method of gambling. with a good grasp of maths, obe can only increase one's chances of winning but the house will still have an edge over everyone.
There are actually documented cases of card-counters who have been successful betting against casinos and have therefore been banned! But these are the select few who have a photographic memory and superior knowledge about odds and "betting the ranch". Defnitely not easy so don't try this at home (or at your nearest local casino!).
On a serious note, gambling has been known to completely ruin lives and families. I've read cases in the papers where people have lost entire homes, families have been torn apart, they themselves have lost their jobs and their freedom (jailed for crimes), and been declared bankrupt. In the process, you also lose friends and relatives whom you borrowed money from, and some have ended up being hounded and harassed by both legal and illegal moneylenders. It is a very destructive addiction.
