I believe it has been mentioned many times in this thread that Temasek subscribing to SIA's rights big time is really about preserving the software of Singapore's aviation hub strategy and protecting direct/indirect aviation job losses (runs to hundreds of thousands). Temasek's role is similar to that of most of the other governments in the world who are bailing out their own national airlines (note: Virgin Australia is not "national" because its 5 shareholders are foreign entities).

WB only does his bail-out (like he did in GFC2008) if he believes the business has an irresistible franchise and so his rejection in this case, probably indicates otherwise.
SIA's single national carrier's importance to Singapore/Temasek is not comparable to the various US airlines to USA simply bcos various US airlines can M&A easily and still fufill USA's commerical aviation needs...for Singapore/Temasek (without LKY), it's not logical to start all over again (setup another one)...so just bail out, :O
Just to state the obvious: WB doesn't do national service. He will sell if he has to sell eg the airline shares. Shut down if he has to eg textile and discount stamp business.

SG has a strategic purpose for SIA as a global trasportation hub, including port and O&G storage / exchange. I think if SQ closes it will affect directly or indirectly 1/3 of SG employment and businesses. This is also very different from other governments who merely see as national pride.
national service indeed! DBS,singtel, comfortdelgro, SIA, KEPPELCORP, more to come! :O

CDG can go bust anytime, no problem, we have grab and gojek!  Big Grin
Every 1000 shares must cough out $4500 for 1,500 rights at $3 each,
and a further $2950 for zero coupon convertible bond.
Totalling $7,450!!

Really over priced.
How on earth can you justify paying $4.77 a shares/
No profit foreseeable in the next 18 months.
No dividends
