I would like to be able to measure my portfolio against STI. Does anyone here knows of any tools that would be able to plot a chart everyday with the closing price of my stocks such that I can use it to compare against STI and see how it fare?
I guess you have to manually do it.

First, you have to measure your portfolio returns, then basically get the returns for STI (normalised to the same starting period).

My suggestion is to do a 'duration-matching' for your investment horizon. If you're long term, then look at returns based on long-term; if you're trading, then you have to do it on a daily basis.

Personally, I match mine on a quarterly basis.
You can write a excel vba macro and do a web query on yahoo finance
Actually, I am looking for an automated means to update my portfolio. I do not mind paying if there is such a tool if it is not too expensive. I need it to be able to plot a chart within a period and compare it against STI. It would also need to be able to calculate and normalised the portfolio if I buy more stocks or sell some stocks. So far I did not see any so I am asking here. I am not good with programming so would not be able to write. Nevertheless, thanks for the ideas.
