Read from Sakari's report that Australia rely heavily on coal (75%) to power its country. If CO2 will cause warming, the Great barrier reef & their precious animals will be gone! It seems that their green peace guys have strong influence to affect the gov decision.

Why don't they change the power industry to rely more on cleaner fuel like LNG, which emits 45% less CO2? Australia can well afford to pay for the extra cost from LNG. Or Global warming is a scam? Angel

LNG emit less CO2
You have to look at not only cost. Industry, jobs will be affected, there are people towns for generations worked in coal mining industry for their livelihood these people will be displaced or affected and they will fight against it.

If the coal industry is small then politicians may consider a small gamble and risk to political fallout. But as indicate Australia relies heavily on coal. How many people are involved? How many jobs at stake. If switch to LNG yes it is cleaner what about these people then? forget about them? write them off? sweep the problem under the rug .. not so simple Big Grin
Ah! now I see where the other part of votes coming from... thanks sgd Smile
