Hi,

thinking of setting up a personal website with my own domain name.

For those with their own domain/website, which service provider do you use? How do you rate their service so far in terms of charges, hidden fees, realiability, ease of use etc?

Thanks in advance
You can try using wordpress.com. If it suits you, you can purchase it as your own .com domain.
A no frills value-for-money web host I've used before is http://www.domainavenue.com/ .
Charges: US35/year for domain and web hosting
Hidden fees: none
Reliability: good
Usability: good

Support is via email only, so there is some delay in getting questions answered but usually not too much. US-based but think they have a crew in Penang taking questions too.
if it's for professional or hobby just write a blog can already. If it is for business related like conduct a seminar or project launch you also need to throw $$$ to advertise otherwise nobody will know.
Thanks guys.

Is there something wrong with your website? I keep getting directed to some funny stuff.

I appreciate your thinking. i have hosted my site at 9cubehosting.com. there i got wonderful offers. there i don't pay any hidden fees this is my personal experience . you can try this ..
Personally tried vodien before. Nice support, but eventually switched both domain name and hosting over to godaddy. No issue so far, support is good too.
I use webhostinghub.com for investingsidekick.com, they are not the cheapest but uptime is over 99.9% which was important for me, also the speed appears to be good. If you want just a standard no frills website though there are probably cheaper options.
