The news on NUS submitted a proposal for tuition fee adjustments to the Education Ministry was reported on 8 Feb. And today (11 Feb), the news of the 3 Uni raising their tuition fees for the 2012 acaemic year is reported. Presumbly MOE gave the green light between 8 Feb and 11 Feb. I wonder how much deliberation was given in the proposal, since it was reported in the media that the minister himself was in Washington, D.C. on 7 Feb.
I am not against the high efficiency, but just to voice my objection against rubber-stamping.
