Hi moderators,

Thanks for setting up this forum for us to exchange ideas!
Please consider my suggestion to setup a section / library, where forumers can upload analyst reports published by the brokerages. Anyone who is interested in the company can have quick and direct access to the detailed info.
I thought you need permission from the original publishers to release those reports to the public?
It is better for members to just post the links on the related company thread. Isn't it ?
Most reports can be obtained FOC so don't see the need for a central library. Good suggestion, though. Smile

Yea, this is my main concern too. Many of the analyst reports from Brokerages usually carry the disclaimer that it is not to be distributed to non-clients or something to that effect.

I think the concern is that it's not so easy to search for a particular report if it's on a particular page and there's many pages within the thread (unless of course, it's possible to search for 'uploaded files' within a particular thread).
Hi buddies,

I feel its quite difficult to search through the threads. Having a specific area to store the reports is neater and may attract more people to visit the forum. New members who benefit from the forum may also be willing to upload any reports they've got.

It's true that there might be infringement of copyright. But sometimes I see my broker sending reports on other brokerages or investment banks like CLSA, Goldman, etc. Do they have some kind of agreement to share the report with their clients?

Actually, I think this is a valid suggestion. However, since there is the issue of the possibility of copyright infringement and since the forum is managed purely on a voluntary basis which limits our resources to seeking legal counsel, may I suggest that we just provide a link to the remisers.org database/repository?

Any negative implications to that?
I think links are ok. But I've received quite a number of very detailed reports by CLSA which doesn't have any links. Probably, you might want to ask them for permission to post the reports in this forum. In return, give them some acknowledgment or free advertisement.
Yes, the reports are copyrighted.
Sending emails are fine unless its a blast to zillion emails and the sender get to benefit substantially from sending these reports (for eg. collect revenue for doing it).
