I will give the Worker's Party credit for not claiming any credit for the govt decision to review the issue the ministerial pay; unlike some of its and the opposition parties' more eager supporters.
How do we know for sure that this won't be reviewed if the PAP has not lost 6% and a GRC?
Whatever the case may be, I hope we can all be cool-headed, rationale and be patient and let the committee do its job. If you have constructive suggestion, I'm sure the committee will listen if you articulate yourself logically. What we dun want to see is a bunch of rabid and red-eyes maniacs on a witch hunt to burn people at the stakes.

Oh pls... They have been drawing outrageous salary for the past 9 yrs while being deaf to our criticisms...
If not for the dismal results in GE 2011, they would have continue in their old ways of "lording" over all of us...
Our politicians are not squeaky clean as much as they want to portray themselves to be...
For a start, why don't they remove Tin Pei Ling as MP?

Tin Pei Ling was elected according to the election act and why should she be removed?
It is one thing to petition and fight for a change in election act to remove GRCs or reduce the no. of representatives in GRCs.
But, it is another matter to remove a MP simply because a minority group of citizens want it to be done.
It is a mockery to democracy that the people that always cried for democracy are not respecting the results of the elections.
I will look down on PAP if they ever do that.

PAP implemented it without prior approval from citizens...
The playing field was never fair towards the opposition..

A few of my bigger gripes:
1) Out of control housing price that is a result of poor planning by HDB..
2) Excessive immigration influx and no quality control..
3) Lack of social safety nets in SG..
Read Temasek Review, Online Citizen and Transitioning.org more often and most issues i have with the PAP govt is all there..

Abolish MP and Ministers pension scheme..it a scam...writing their own cheque.
If there are to be any meaningful revision in the salary of the ministers, the Administrative Service might be affected as well.
The annual remuneration of the permanent secretary is roughly 600-800k. On top of him seats the various politicians, parliamentary secretary, senior parl sect, minister of state, senior minister of state, minister, depute PM, prime minister.
The original pension scheme was designed as a safety net for the various public figures who sacrificed their time for the state (they were not as highly remunerated then). Now that their pay package has been pegged to the highest professions in society, the scheme is obsolete and will be addressed.
I do not think that many will object to their high pay if it came along with the highest standards of responsibility, accountability and transparency. This few aspects, has been found wanting in them.
