it's kind of quiet here

looking at low p/tbv companies, this one comes out at 37%??? does that sound right??

i have a mc of 406 million shares @ S$0.21 = S$85 million @ 1.40 = US$60 million

tbv = US$ 161 million   mc/tbv = 37%

why does htl use us$ as their reporting currency?

how much of the company is owned by phua? what's the difference between bem holdings and raffles nominees?

thanks in advance

regards

I made a lot of $ in HTL back in early 2000s. However, since the day when they bought a European furniture retailer, HTL's earnings has been highly volatile since.

I m really clueless on how to estimate HTL earnings.

HTL probably stood for Huat Tat Liao... looks like want to Huat further oso quite tough...

Odd Lots Vested
GG
thanks gg

what are you saying here?
"looks like want to Huat further oso quite tough"

natuzzi is a european competitor, also struggling, doing worse than htl

current valuation probably reflects china slow down? but should a profitable company really be valued at 37% tbv?

Go ahead and squat if u deemed it undervalued. How to value and project HTL is more an art than a science...
HTL has just announced that it has signed an MOU with Guangdong Yihua Timber Industry Co., Ltd.
(“GDYH”), in relation to potential corporate transaction(s), which may be assets/shares
related, aimed at realising value for all shareholders of the Company

The MOU is signed between BEM and GDYH. Could it be that BEM is considering to sell its stake? Will this result in a takeover offer for other shareholders?

Could someone kindly explain what this means? And why has the stock price almost doubled over the afternoon?
